Job Description

H1 Healthcare's priority client, is a vibrant and leading Health Centre in Glasgow who are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join them within their Management team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent salary and flexible hours across the contractual 4xdays per week. The successful candidate will be a massive asset within the Centre whilst demonstrating a strategic, forward-planning and holistic view on the running of the daily operations. You shall be able to demonstrate the ability to influence and negotiate required outcomes as well as have excellent communication skills - well organised, self-motivated, and able to operate within a dynamic and fast paced working environment to ensure smooth delivery.

This is a fantastic but rare management role that will not only brings variation but a heavy purpose to the Practice and support to the GP Partners in achieving their business and operational goals.

Main duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Working closely with the GP Partners, you will illustrate and develop the strategic aims and objectives through the Practice development planning process
  • Monthly review and development of the business plan
  • Development and maintenance of new and existing services in line with the strategic aims of the practice
  • Reviewing changes within the Healthcare sector - in close reference to the changes and developments within the NHS
  • Responsible for all book-keeping, petty cash, purchasing, payments, invoicing, and banking
  • Processing payroll and employee pensions
  • Advise and liaise with the GP Partners on all matters of capital expenditure planning.
  • Oversee all contract activity, supporting staff with delegated responsibilities, understand and report on implications of contract and legislative changes
  • Office Management across all administrative staff and non-clinical management of nursing staff including performance, discipline, occupational health and wellbeing, in line with current contractual and legislative requirements and in a manner that builds a healthy and strong culture
  • Responsible for all internal recruitment requirements - involved from selection including induction, succession planning and pay negotiation
  • Following on from staff appraisal ensure that effective systems are in place to support the development of individual staff members, performance review and mentoring. If necessary, and in consultation with staff partner, undertake disciplinary proceedings
  • In reference to Service Delivery, you will encourage feedback from patients within the Centre on the service whilst using several methods. In addition, follow-ups on the feedback will be appropriately responded to whilst acting upon any complaints in line with current best practice
  • Develop, implement and maintain a Health and Safety at Work Management Policy

The successful candidate will have as a minimum:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent word processing and IT skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to research, digest, analyse and present material clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Great attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and to work extra hours to meet deadlines
  • Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues
